THE HOLE: On their epic roadtrip from the midwest to LA, high school garage band Analog Dogs get waylaid at a squat in Texas — a place where young punks gather to make art and music, skate, and hang out.
THE LOCATION: Initially scripted as an abandoned house, this scrapyard in Oklahoma City offered so much scope and texture, and had a great counter-culture vibe for this set. It was too good to pass up.
COLOR PALETTE: The existing detritus informed a beautiful palette of rusty reds and oranges, tones of blue and faded yellow.
SET DESIGN : The script called for a stage for the bands to play, a skateable half pipe, a fire pit, places for actors and BG to safely climb up on, and an interior warehouse dressed as a squat. Found materials on site were repurposed for the build and artfully placed to create the needed elements and great backgrounds in every direction.

ARTWORK: Color palette and style reference for the grafitti throughout the set. Two incredibly talented scenic artists managed to switch styles and mix content in such a way that it felt like many artists over many years had worked here.
GRAPHICS: References for punk rock flyer and poster art for our graphic designer to generate original artwork from.
THE SET: Scavenged materials, construction ingenuity, scenic artistry, and set decoration combine to create a deeply layered and textured environment for the scenes that also touches the thematic heart of the story — a place where young people have built their own world on their own terms.
